Merhaba and Welcome to Kalkan Chat.

We know that there are several forums dedicated to Kalkan, usually set up by expatriates and property owners which are great for advice on restaurants, buying etc. However….we thought it may be a good idea to have a forum run by workers!!!!

I am Turkish and a restaurant owner, you will see which restaurant on the photo gallery but believe me this is very ‘tongue in cheek’, my wife is English and we both work hard throughout the season with our estate agency (my wife was an estate agent and financial adviser in the UK for more than 10 years), our ladies lingerie and gift shop 2nd Stop and now with our partner Sedat (of Infinity Jewellers) we have Enhance Cosmetic Surgery which we run out of Izmir, for those who wish to enhance their looks for half the price of UK surgery.

We can advise on different aspects of Turkish life, ie. carpenters, electricians, car mechanics, etc, and we mean those who are not used by the expat community therefore those who have lower prices. We therefore have no problem with those who wish to advertise themselves as we feel it would mean that there is ‘across the board’ advertising and not just a few places or people being advertised. Everyone has something to offer!

Hopefully this will be an unbiased website, we would love to hear from other nationalities, including Turks themselves replying to comments and maybe being started and run by a Turk it may well happen.

But it will be great to hear from anyone with an opinion, this will be your forum to discuss and debate, and yes argue your point, the louder the better!
